1910 LEAF Pedals (Lea Francis / Dursley Pedersen)

Lightweight Aluminium pedals, made by Brampton for Lea Francis

The LEAF pedals were a special design patented by Lea Francis in 1908. They were offered as an optional extra on Lea Francis and Dursley Pedersen bicycles. They were advertised at 10/- 6d a pair plus 4d postage (the equivalent of around £75 in 2024).

After Dursley Pedersen started using them, due to increased demand Lea Francis contracted Brampton to make them under license. This pair has Brampton’s stamp on each – BRAMPTON LEAF PEDAL.

As you can see, they are in good condition with no damage to the aluminium (which was prone to cracking). Each pedal has sixteen rubbers, and in each case there is one rubber missing.
