Overman Wheel Co, maker of the Victor bicycle, was one of America’s leading cycle manufacturers until the end of the bicycle boom. The company went out of business in 1899. But in its heyday, with many unique innovations, the Victor was one of the world’s best bicycles. In the era before cars and motorcycles, if you wanted to get somewhere as fast as possible, this was the type of machine you rode.

This model of Victor Light Roadster was introduced in 1887 and continued in production until 1892; in its final two years it featured an optional cushion tyre.
My friend Phil is moving house, so I’m selling three of his treasured bicycles. Bicycles like these rarely come onto the market. He has owned this particular machine for 30 years, and restored and renickeled it 20 years ago. Apart from new rims, replacement leather saddle top and repro pedals, all parts are original. Phil has ridden this Victor for many years here and abroad. This was the epitome of state-of-the-art transportation 130 years ago. It is still a fast riding and racing machine in tip top condition.
