1888 Humber Crossframe safety
Solid tyres
20″ Frame
30″ Wheels

Built by one of the world’s top bicycle and tricycle manufacturers, this Humber crossframe safety with solid tyres is in excellent preserved condition. It features chain adjustment at the bottom bracket (rear chain adjustment was introduced in the cycle trade in 1889/1890), a front plunger brake, and both mudguards are intact (they are usually missing on cycles of this era). I took it for a spin around the pond, and it’s fully functional, though it could do with oiling and greasing before being used for riding any distance. It’s a rare beast that would be the pride of any collection – particularly if you collect Humber bicycles, motorcycles or motor cars, and it’s ready to ride and display.
