There’s an interesting bottom bracket arrangement on this c1889 Crossframe Safety Bicycle, to adjust and lock the cone in place. I’ve not found it in my database of British crossframe safety bicycles.

It was a state-of-the-art machine in its day, though soon to be superseded by bicycles with diamond frames, ball head steering and chain adjustment at the rear dropout. It has had a rim repair on the back wheel and the saddle has a replacement leather top. It’s in good original condition all round and ready to ride.
