28 x 1 1 /4″ Westwood Rim with Dunlop Roadster Tyre

Our dear friend Andrew Heaps dropped in this week with a present for me – a 28 x 1 1 /4″ wheel, complete with original Dunlop tyre.

I’ve never seen a wheel or tyre in this size before. In the early 1900s some of the top cycle makers used odd size parts to thwart counterfeiters trying to make bicycles in their names. So I’ll keep an eye on catalogue specifications to see if I can find which company might have used this size wheel.
