A nickel finish was an option on the Dursley Pedersen. It is my understanding that for a certain period (I’m not sure when) all the models were nickelled prior to painting, so rubbing down the paint could produce the same finish. However, the nickel on this example is worn on the frame around the gear trigger (see one of the photos below), so this would appear to be a rare surviving example of a model supplied in nickel.

The mudguards are a later addition. The saddle has a leather cover; I’m not sure of the condition of the woven saddle underneath it. The handlebar appears to have been re-nickelled at some time in its life.

It is in good working order, having been ridden by its previous owner on a number of events over the years. She sold it to me because she no longer uses it.

It’s frame style is similar to the one in the early 1900s photograph below.
