Much of the paint has faded on this rare Triumph bicycle, but enough of the original green enamel and pin-striping remains to see its original colour. The Gloria was built by Triumph, but used cheaper components than the company’s top-of-the-range Royal and Imperial models which sold for double the price. It’s likely that Triumph also used surplus parts from their Royal and Imperial models on the Glorias, as this machine has a Triumph chainwheel. With green paintwork, and fitted with state-of-the-art Sturmey-Archer Tricoaster gears (and compatible inverted lever handlebar), this example would have been a more expensive Gloria model. It’s in good working condition.
