with Disc Wheels and Steering to Front Axle
Made in France by ‘P.F’
LENGTH” 27″
WIDTH: 17″

WHEELS: 8″
The design of ‘up-and-down’ pedals turning an articulated rear axle is from the earlest style of pedal cars, before they became chain-driven. It continued for many decades because it was cheaper to produce. I assume this example to be from the late twenties or early thirties because of the style of its wheels.
This pedal-operated horse is rare, as most surviving early horse riding toys have metal or composite bodies rather than a stuffed soft body, and are not a pedal car type of design like this. As you can see, though a little threadbare and without ears, mane or tail, this charming pet is full of character, in excellent original unrestored condition and fully functional.
