This interesting 90-year-old children’s bicycle is in good all round condition and ready to ride. It’s also perfect to display at steam rallies and other summer events, where it would certainly get some attention.

What i particularly like about juvenile vintage bicycles is that they are invariably a few evolutionary steps behind adult bicycles. Whereas 1930s full size bicycles had now moved on from roadsters to lightweights, this sidewalk bicycle design had been current since the early 1920s and was old-fashioned with its solid tyres and plunger brake onto the front tyre. This idea harks from a time when parents and grandparents chose bicycles for young children and, of course, they liked being reminded of the bikes from their own youth.
