1937 Crescent Ladies (Sweden)

Western Wheel Works was one of America’s leading cycle makers. The ‘Crescent’ was their best-selling brand. With the failure of the US cycle industry in the late 1890s, export markets became more important for US companies. After Western Wheel Works was taken over by a conglomerate of US cycle makers in 1899, the manufacture of the Crescent continued in Sweden. We enjoy seeing them now because their style is mostly unchanged from the c1900 models.

I don’t know how this pre-war Swedish ladies’ bicycle found its way to Britain. It’s a rare model here. It has obviouly been cherished by its previous owners, and is in very good original unrestored condition and ready to ride.
