This interesting machine is a replica of the sociable tandems that were popular 100 or so years ago. It was built in the 1990s by a touring theatre group based in Nottingham, using two post office bicycles – as the top tube drops down towards the seat it means it can be ridden by someone with shorter legs.
It was serviced by my local bike shop – Baker Street Bikes – and in the video you can see Chris and Jamie demonstrating it opposite their shop. If you like creating a stir wherever you ride, it’s ready for you and your companion to hop on and ride…
