1955 Raleigh Winkie Tricycle

LENGTH: 42″

WIDTH: 22″

HEIGHT: 30″

16″ Wheels

Raleigh dedicated a lot of advertising to their Winkie tricycles, and in 1951 launched a publicity campaign inviting Winkie owners to join the ‘Circle of Silver Knights’ which promoted road safety. But their most successful promotion involved members of the Royal Family – Prince Phillip, Price Charles and Princess Anne – photographed riding Raleigh Winkie tricycls.

The tricycles were made in large numbers over many years, so they are not as rare nowadays as other models. However, it’s not easy to find one in such a nice original unrestored condition as this. Even rarer is a tricycle with a snapshot of the original owner riding it when it was new (below).
