1967 Clark Scamp CWS Commuter
17″ Frame
16″ Wheels
(Now sold)
This interesting bicycle was built by CWS (The Co-operative Wholesale Society). They sold them as the CWS Commuter. This one was part of a batch sold to AN Clark Ltd on the Isle of Wight for fitting their cyclemoter engine, which they marketed as the Clark Scamp (below).
However, Clark had legal issues over patent infringement with their engine, and less than 4000 Clark Scamps were sold. I bought this bike in 2012. The paint and chrome are a bit tarnished, but it’s in good all round condition and ready to ride.
A 1968 MOTORISED CLARK SCAMP I SOLD IN 2010
