1880s Ordinary (Penny Farthing) Toolbag & Rider’s Bags
(Now sold)
A leather toolbag to attach to the saddle, or a rider’s bag, worn around the neck or over the shoulder, were very popular and practical accessories in the 1880s. All manufacturers’ showrooms stocked them.
The fashion of the day was for the clip to illustrate an Ordinary bicycle.
Here you can see both styles.
