c1899 BSA Fittings Machine Road Racer
24″ Frame
28″ Wheels
Fixed wheel
(Now sold)
This late 1890s road racer has a BSA frame, as can be seen by the bottom bracket and unique design of the rear dropouts. The pedal cranks are 1898 style. The rear hub looks like a BSA. Apart from the handlebar grips, saddle and pedals (which I replaced, but are appropriate) its components are correct items of the era. It’s a typical ‘fittings machine’ built by a local cycle shop to a customer’s requirements using parts available at the time through the cycle trade. It was recently stripped, cleaned and serviced, and is ready to ride.
