Peugeot was a leading French cycle manufacturer from the 1890s onwards. Their cycles were built to the highest standards. Like other French bicycles of this time, the chainwheel is inch pitch. This model is in ‘Course’ trim with dropped handlebars and fitted with rat trap pedals. What is unusual is its tall frame: it was most likely built specially for a tall customer.
This machine was restored and renickeled by the previous owner some years ago, using new steel wheel rims, and is still in excellent condition. It does not have a head badge, but the Peugeot name is etched into the front of the handlebar. It’s ready to ride.
