LEWIS E MYERS & Co
Valparaiso, Indiana, USA
Lewis E Myers achieved renown for his Chautauqua desk. As he result he started his company Lewis E Myers & Co in 1913. His main priority was children’s educational products and, in 1921, he founded the Children’s Foundation of Valparaiso, devoted to the study of their educational needs. The best-known toys his company produced were the Rolls Racer coaster wagon (illustrated above) and the Rolls Racer pedal airplane (below), which used the same components as the tricycle featured here, the Rolls Racer Circus Trike.
The company appears to have gone out of business in 1927, and the name taken over by O.E Thompson& Sons of Ypsilanti, Michigan, who continued to sell Rolls Racer products in the 1930s.
