1946-1953 BSA Junior Parabikes – Boy’s & Girl’s

The BSA Junior Boy’s Parabike was announced in the Cycling Magazine issue of 21st November 1945, as being available in time for Xmas 1945. So obviously BSA had been preparing their civilian models for some time prior to the war’s end in September 1945. It ran concurrently with the BSA ACP ‘Army Commando Paratroop’ bike, with which it shared a ‘twin-tube elliptic frame’ although the ACP was discontinued by 1946. Presumably the Girl’s Parabike was introduced soon after. They continued to be sold at least until 1953.

  BSA JUNIOR PARABIKES v  BSA ‘ACP’ ADULT BIKE

 

 The BSA Junior and the ACP were both designed, before the end of the war, with styling reminiscent of the BSA Airborne folding paratrooper bike. According to BSA in personal correspondence, the ACP used some of the tooling and components of the Airborne.
