1983 Trussardi Folding City Bike
22″ Frame
26″ Wheels
(Now sold)
The Italian fashion house Trussardi decided to add a bicycle to their collection and, in 1983, commissioned the manufacture of machine in the style of an acknowledged design classic …the World War Two BSA Airborne Folding Paratroopers’ bicycle. The Trussardi is somewhat less rugged than its ancestor and overloaded with accessories. But, as a limited edition fashion statement that preserves the memory of the original, it’s a superb addition to any BSA Airborne enthusiast’s collection. The leather ‘head badge’ bearing the company’s greyhound logo is a nice touch.
TRUSSARDI of MILAN
The company was founded in Bergamo, Italy, by Dante Trussardi in 1911 to make luxury gloves. The British Royal Family were customers. Its Greyhound logo was adopted in 1973, as a symbol of agility, elegance and speed. The Trussardi bicycle was designed in 1981, and the company has since branched out into many new fields, including clothes, perfumes and furniture.
