With the popularity with the restyled Flexible Flyer sleds, S.L Allen brought out the ‘Flexy Racer’ with the same design and steering, basically a Flexible Flyer sled on wheels. This style did not run for many years: by 1940 it had been simplified; perhaps the ‘super steering’ had made it too expensive compared to all the other basic coaster wagons on the market? Or perhaps , with all the new steel streamline models of coaster wagon now available it was too old-fashioned to compete in the upper price bracket?
