I owned this Mosquito between 2008 and 2013. It was restored for me by my friend Pat in Paris. I MOT tested it and rode it on French plates (there is still a bit of sticky tape on the headlight where I taped up the lights for the MOT). It was not UK registered.
The 49cc Mosquito enjoys a good reputation as a reliable and powerful cyclemotor. This one rode well. There are chips in the paint here and there if you look closely, and the wheels are a little tarnished by now. It’s a machine to use rather than a concours showroom exhibit – but as you can see it is very presentable and attractive. The front and rear lights are attractive period fittings. The Optima saddle is in excellent condition, and there’s a set of tools inside the toolbox fitted to the rear carrier.
